The suggested lengths of the different Orienteering Courses are listed below, in order of difficulty. The
White course is for beginners,
the
Yellow course is considered an advanced beginner's course, and
the
Orange is an intermediate course.
The remaining courses are all
Advanced courses:
Brown,
Green,
Red,
Blue,
with the only real difference being the length of the course.
The winner's time listed below is for individuals actually running the course.
At local levels (the ones sponsed by this club), there will usually be at least 3 courses offered, beginner, intermediate and advanced. Also most of our meet locations limit the lengths that we can offer. Although the beginner courses will be about the lengths shown here, the advanced courses will usually be about Brown or Green length regardless of what we call them.
